As a Sussex wedding photographer, I get to capture weddings at beautiful venues all over the county as well as UK wide. From rustic barns to country houses, marquees to hotels, I love that there are so many different types of wedding venue that I get to experience.

The four venues below are particularly special to me and I am delighted to be a recommend supplier at each one too. I have vast experience of capturing multiple weddings at these venues so as well as being able to highly recommend them, I also know all the great spots for photos!

Upwaltham Barns, West Sussex

Upwaltham Barns is a venue I have captured so many wonderful weddings at and is one that I adore so much too! This beautiful barn venue here in Sussex really is the most special place and has everything that I love to photograph – beautiful indoor spaces, rustic features, stunning gardens, an amazing hill you can climb for sunset photos, the tastiest food and lastly the wonderful staff who really are the best.

You can get ready on site in beautiful Jasmine Cottage where you can also spend your first night as husband and wife too!

It is no secret that I have a big soft spot for this venue and am delighted to be a regular visitor to capture so many unique and wonderful weddings there.

The Pilgrims Rest, East Sussex

This beautiful 600-year-old Wealden hall house sits proudly next to Battle Abbey and is run by the loveliest team too. It also happens to be my most local wedding venue, being just a ten-minute drive down the road.

I have been working with The Pilgrims Rest capturing many weddings and styled shoots since 2016 and each and every day has looked and felt so different, such is the beauty of the blank canvas that the building provides. You really can style your wedding in any way to suit the seasons and this venue is equally suited to Spring and Summer gatherings as it is cosy winter weddings too.

You can have roaring open fires in the winter and spill out into the pretty gardens in the warmer months, it really is such an adaptable space with so much history too.You can get ready onsite in two beautiful dressing rooms and the venue has its own cosy bar area to relax in.

Farbridge, West Sussex

Alex and I are big fans of this lovely barn based just north of Chichester, and we always seem to be blessed with the most gorgeous weather when we are there too.

As well as beautiful adjoining ceremony and reception spaces, Farbridge has a lovely courtyard with the most stunning view up into the valley. There is a little chalk stream that runs along the bottom of the courtyard and the fields are normally filled with very cute sheep.

For someone who loves to capture photos surrounded by lots of greenery and views Farbridge certainly ticks all the boxes, and it has a lovely track that I walk my couples up at sunset, which is always fun. The food and staff are always amazing and we are both looking forward to heading back there soon!

Kingdom, Kent

Kingdom is a gorgeous treehouse style venue Set in a magical 13-acre woodland in Penshurst, not far from Tunbridge Wells. This rustic venue has a stunning outside ceremony area under an old oak tree, which is licenced for weddings, and the woodland setting at Kingdom is so magical for a unique celebration, surrounded by nature.

The roof deck is the perfect spot for your drinks reception with the most wonderful views surrounding you, and the deck area on the lower ground floor is a great place to chill next to the pond during the evening celebrations..

I am totally in my element when capturing weddings at Kingdom surrounded by so much greenery, and I know all the spots for wonderful photos whatever time of the year you decide to marry.
